This roadside station was built at Futae Fishing Port, which is popular for dolphin watching, and has a reception desk for dolphin watching on the first floor, where information on how to enjoy dolphin watching can be obtained. The second floor restaurant serves fresh sashimi set menus and seafood rice bowls prepared by the local fishermen's cooperative. There are also various contents to learn about dolphins and Futae, and on a clear day, the view from the observation deck is superb.

Dolphin watching is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in Amakusa. The sea around Amakusa is home to about 200 bottlenose dolphins, making it one of the few places in Japan where dolphins can be seen year-round. The friendly dolphins are full of service, running alongside the boat or swimming close by. The high transparency of the sea makes it possible to see the dolphins swimming in the water, making you feel as if you are swimming with them.

If you want to have fun in the area

It is the pioneer of olive orchards in Kyushu and the first hands-on olive orchard in Japan. With consulting guidance from an expert Italian technician, approximately 1,300 olive trees of 10 varieties are grown on an area of approximately 2 hectares. Visitors can tour the farm, experience olive pressing by hand, and try olive oil tasting. (Reservations are required, available from one person.) Visitors can also enjoy sweets made with olive oil. At the store, you can buy the garden's original olive oil and olive oil cosmetics.
