The produce center offers freshly harvested vegetables such as horseradish, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and wild vegetables in spring, eggplants, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other summer vegetables in summer, chestnuts and rice in fall, and persimmons in winter. In particular, wasabi (horseradish), which is said to be produced in the largest quantity in Kyushu, and wild boar meat and other game species are specialties of the area. The meat of wild boars raised in the mountains, which are rich in nature and eat nuts, does not have a bad smell. Try it for yourself.

Local product: horseradish

The Tsue district (former Maetsue-cho, former Nakatsue-mura, and former Kamitsue-cho), located in western Oita Prefecture, began producing wasabi in 1981, taking advantage of the cool climate, abundant cedar forests, and steep terrain. Although there is only one type of wasabi, different cultivation methods produce leaf wasabi, flower wasabi, sawa wasabi, and house wasabi grown in greenhouses. In addition to being used as wasabi paste and pickled ingredients, "leaf wasabi" and "hana wasabi" are sold as seasonal foods. It is now a specialty of the Tsue area and a representative production area in Kyushu.

On a slope of about 6,000 tsubo (about 7,000 m2), 20,000 rhododendrons and 3,000 three-leaf azaleas from Japan and overseas bloom. The owner of the garden originally planted the rhododendrons in his garden after they were cut down due to the Japanese cedar afforestation policy. He teaches visitors how to cultivate rhododendrons and sells them. There is an old rhododendron tree on the grounds that is over 350 years old, as well as a small "god's dwelling waterfall. Be careful when driving here, as the road is narrow and you may have to pass each other. The best time to view the rhododendrons is usually from mid-April to early May, about a month.
