Strawberry picking is popular with parents and children
This roadside station overlooks the "Enaido no Kei," or "view of Enaido," where the Ono River and the countryside are interwoven. With the Ono River in the center, visitors can look out over the Hisazumi Mountain range and Mount Otsuji. The produce hall sells sweet potatoes, a year-round specialty, as well as shiitake mushrooms, strawberries, blueberries, and many other products. Tenant restaurants offer Chinese food, ramen noodles, toriten (chicken tempura), and other set menus. The take-out corner sells not only specialty soft-serve ice cream and coffee, but also "imokenpi" (sweet potato kenpi) and "imojips" (sweet potato chips) made from the specialty sweet potatoes. In the adjacent farmland, visitors can pick seasonal vegetables and strawberries.

Roadside Station Mie Gourmet Information
Local product: Red Haruka

This variety is a crossbreed of "Kyushu No. 121" with excellent appearance and "Harukogane" with excellent skin color and taste. In other words, it has a good appearance, and its sugar content increases further when steamed. Moreover, because of its high maltose content, it boasts an elegant sweetness with a strong sweetness but not a harsh aftertaste. Its moist texture and sweetness are as good as those of Anno sweet potatoes. JA Zen-Noh Oita stores Beniharu under certain conditions for 40 days or more after harvesting, and those that meet certain standards are sold under the brand name "Amataikun.

The sweetness of Beniharuko and the buttery flavor harmonize to create an elegant sweet. Although it is a sweet potato pastry, it is neither too sweet nor too bland, yet it has a strong presence. It is a snack that once you get to know it, you will be hooked on it. It was developed by a local confectionery store soon after the opening of Mie Roadside Station as an original product of the station. Even after the confectionery store moved to a new location, it has continued to produce this product that can only be purchased at the Michi-no-Eki Mie. The ingredients are "Beniharuka" sweet potatoes, a local specialty. The name "Nanerido" refers to the view of "Enaido no Kei," which can be seen from the roadside station. Just like the scenery that is familiar to the locals, this is a snack that will be familiar to them for a long time. That is the "Eneido Potato.

Hozumi Underwater Cave
If you want to have fun in the area

Formed 300 million years ago during the Paleozoic Era, it was submerged by the Aso Volcano eruption 300,000 years ago and took on its present appearance. The cave is home to many underwater stalactites, coral stones, bell holes, and heliactites, which are said to be rare in the world. There is an underwater section of about 150 m that allows scuba diving in the cave for the first time in Japan. Incidentally, the entire underwater cave is the longest in Japan with a total length of 1 km. The depth of the water can reach 40 meters at the deepest point. It has also recently come into the limelight as a water bath in the "MORZH" tent sauna.
Now, in fact, the area around the limestone caves has been improved for sightseeing, and the exit of the limestone caves leads to the "Showa Time Trip Romanza," a recreation of a townscape from the Showa period inside the museum. Furthermore, there are various facilities such as "Giant Dragon Reisen" with a giant dragon objet d'art, "Kaisei Art Museum," "White Snake Hall" where white snakes are kept, and the tallest statue of Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) in Oita Prefecture.
