The best place to eat! Hamo Katsu (hamo cutlet) set meal

On August 1, 2024, the restaurant management changed and the menu was completely renewed. One of the dishes recommended is the "Hamo Katsu (hamo cutlet)" set meal. Nakatsu is a hamo (Japanese garden eel) production area, and hamo dishes have long been enjoyed in the area. For this reason, the restaurant has been serving hamo cutlet curry and hamo kamameshi, but with this renewal, the restaurant is now offering thick, crispy fried hamo cutlets. The hamo cutlets are soft and fluffy to the palate, yet still have a hint of elasticity. The dish is also hearty, making it a simple yet satisfying dish. 1,400 yen (including tax)
Let's eat Nakatsu Karaage

Oita Prefecture is known for its chicken dishes such as "toriten" (fried chicken tempura) and "chicken rice. Nakatsu City is so fond of fried chicken that it boasts of being the "holy land" when it comes to fried chicken. There are many karaage restaurants throughout Nakatsu City. It is said that karaage became popular in Nakatsu about half a century ago. Tender and juicy chicken is an absolute prerequisite, and each restaurant competes for the "secret flavor" such as the seasoning. Fried chicken is also a staple at roadside station restaurants. The "Karaage Set Meal" (1,000 yen) and "Karaage Donburi" (900 yen) are available, but individual items (4 pieces for 400 yen, 8 pieces for 800 yen) are also available for takeout.

Sanko Cosmos Garden
If you want to have fun in the area

This cosmos garden was created using rice paddies that have been shifted to cultivation at the foot of Mt. Of the approximately 15 hectares of rice paddies, 12 million cosmos, mostly pink, are planted in approximately 10 hectares. In addition, about 45,000 sunflowers are planted in an area of about 1.5 ha. During the cosmos season, cosmos art, in which characters and patterns are drawn with cosmos flowers, also makes an appearance. During the "Sanko Cosmos Festival," a stage event is held, and depending on the blooming conditions, visitors can also try their hand at cutting flowers (for a fee).
