Roadside Station Oto Sakura Kaido Gourmet Information
Shijimi clam, a local delicacy

The town of Ootomachi, where the station is located, is focusing on shijimi farming under the theme of "Home of Flowers and Shijimi".
They paid attention to the water purification ability of shijimi and started protecting and cultivating them to purify the Hikosan River.
The original soft "shijimi soft" sold at the station is topped with dried shijimi and sakura flavor powder in milk soft.
Here's what to eat Lunchboxes

One of the pleasures of a roadside station is the boxed lunches. At this station as well, there is a lineup of boxed lunches made by local bento stores and delicatessen stores.
Moreover, the volume of the dish is very generous for a one-coin price! The side dishes are served on top of the rice.
It was a coal-mining town, so it is a robust type of food.

Hot spring facility "Sakura-kan
I'm proud of this one too.

Sakura-kan, a popular hot spring facility at the roadside station, has an open-air bath with garden-style plantings, and it is pleasant to bathe while feeling the expanse of the sky. The indoor baths also have large windows and a variety of bathtubs, including a bee skin with fine bubbles that cling to the body, a Jacuzzi, and a sauna.
The "Arashi no Yu" bath is also highly recommended, where visitors can take in the minerals contained in 15 types of medicinal stones throughout their bodies. The room is filled with steam, and just by lying down in the steam, one's entire body begins to sweat. 10 minutes of lying down and 5 to 10 minutes of rest, repeated 3 to 5 times, is said to detoxify the body and provide various medicinal benefits.

At the Momiji-kan, which includes a product center and food court, visitors can enjoy "delicious" food from eight restaurants, including a bakery.
Oto Flower Park
Seasonal flowers bloom all over the area.

The observatory and park, where visitors can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of beautiful seasonal flowers in bloom, is located right next to Roadside Station Otou Sakura Kaido. The 1.2 ha flower park is a popular spot that changes its expression with the seasons: rape blossoms in spring, sunflowers in summer, and cosmos in autumn. Many visitors come to take pictures when the flowers are in full bloom. The view from the 8-meter-high "Rainbow Observation Deck" in the center of the park is breathtaking and a good spot for selfies.
Tagawa City Coal & History Museum
If you want to have fun in the area

Located in the neighboring city of Tagawa across the Hikosan River, the museum exhibits materials on the Chikuho coalfield and coal mine paintings by Sakubei Yamamoto, a UNESCO Memory of the World Heritage Site. Outside the museum, two chimneys, a symbol of the Chikuho coalfield and a registered national heritage of industrial modernization, are preserved and displayed, and a restored coal mine house is also on display.
