The best place to buy pain de campagne

This is a popular item at the bakery store "Morino Bakery Sefurino" located right outside the station entrance. It is also the pride of the bakery, which has been handed down since the days of the founder's bakery, Sefurino. The name means "country bread" in French, and is made from a blend of French wheat flour and Saga Prefecture shirogane wheat flour. The water used is from a spring that bubbles up from the station grounds. The dough is fermented for a long time using the "medium-knead method," in which the dough is kneaded twice, resulting in hard bread that is hearty and fluffy on the inside. Fresh bread is baked every morning around 11:00 a.m., but it is often sold out before noon. 680 yen (including tax)

Eisai tea, a local specialty

Eisai tea is a local specialty that represents the history of the area. 1191, when Eisai returned from China, he brought back tea seeds and sprinkled them in the garden of Reisenji Temple, which is said to be the origin of tea cultivation in Japan. Yoshinogeri in the Sefuri mountain range is said to be suitable for tea cultivation because, like Mount Tendai in China where Eisai practiced Buddhism, it is prone to fog. The traditional kettle-roasting and hand-firing method produces a clear golden color and a cool, refreshing flavor.

KORE also boasts Fruit Kobo Shin SUN Yoshinokaseri Store

The company that runs the popular fruit parlor "Fruit Kobo Shin SUN" in Saga City became the management company of the roadside station and opened a new store at the roadside station in January 2018. The fruits used for parfaits and cakes are selected from all over Japan, and offer a mellow fruit flavor. Water from the Sefuri mountain range that springs on the station grounds is used for the jellies. The fresh cream is made with a low level of sweetness to accentuate the sweetness of the fruit.
