Hiraodai Nature Observation Center

Hiraodai is one of the three major karsts in Japan, with limestone formations stretching 6 km from north to south and 2 km from east to west at elevations ranging from 300 to 700 m. It is designated as a natural monument, national park, and prefectural natural park. The area is popular as a trekking course, and visitors can encounter such oddly shaped rocks as "Lion Rock" and "Kissing Rock. The Hiraodai Nature Observation Center was built to protect the irreplaceable nature and pass it on to the next generation. The center has an exhibition corner introducing the nature, scenery, and flowers of Hiraodai, a library corner, a high-definition theater, and other facilities.
