Is the famous octopus a symbol of good fortune?
The octopus is the star of both gourmet food and good luck!

Every year in early summer, dried octopuses line up along the bay road in Ariake Town, Amakusa City. This is why it is called the "Amakusa Ariake Octopus Road. The roadside station in front of the giant octopus monument is, of course, all about octopus. Not only are there processed octopus products, but there are also octopus goods that bring good fortune. The restaurant serves "octopus rice set" and "octopus tempura rice bowl. The hotel also has hot spring facilities, with men's and women's baths on the east and west sides of the building, each equipped with a jet bath, low-frequency bathtub, and other facilities. The spring is a simple alkaline spring that does not contain salt because its source is located on the mountain side.

Octopus, the most popular local product

Ariake Town boasts the largest catch of octopus in Japan. In fact, it is said that it was the octopus produced in Ariake in Amakusa that revived the Akashi octopus in Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture, which had once perished due to severe cold damage. In early summer, when the octopus is in season, its flesh is firm and its flavor is at its peak. The octopus has three qualities: chewy, tasty, and colorful. Restaurants and guest house associations along the highway offer octopus dishes such as octopus rice and octopus dishes (eight octopus dishes). There is also a wide variety of processed octopus products, such as "octopus rice goo.

The best way to eat it! Octopus tempura rice bowl

If you come to "Amakusa Ariake Octopus Road," you must eat octopus. The long-selling menu item at the station restaurant and available only in limited quantities is the "Tako-tendon" (bowl of rice topped with octopus tempura). The "octopus steak," a souvenir of the station, is made into tempura and topped with rice and vegetable tempura. You can enjoy the firm and chewy texture of Ariake octopus. The set includes mini udon noodles, mini salad, a small bowl of cooked food, and pickles for only 1,000 yen including tax, which is a very reasonable price.

hot spring

I'm proud of this one too.

On the second floor of the Onsenkan, there are two large bathhouses, "Sazanami no Yu," located on the east and west sides of the building. Both have a jet bath, a low-frequency bathtub, and a low-frequency bath. The east side has a floating bath and a mist sauna, while the west side has a relaxing bath for lying down and a far-infrared sauna. The spring is a simple alkaline spring that is colorless and odorless and contains no salt, even though it is located by the sea. In fact, the source of the spring is located on the mountain side. The water is heated because the temperature of the spring is 31 degrees Celsius. During the season, many visitors come here after swimming in the sea.
