Roadside Station Joyous House Hikosan

The station's homemade tofu is excellent.
Souvenirs of groundwater from Mt.
Until the JR Hita Hikosan Line was damaged by the Northern Kyushu torrential rains in July 2017, the station was one of the few roadside stations in Japan directly connected to a JR station. The musical notes on the station's exterior are said to be part of the song "Embraced by the Mountain" written by Tetsuro Hoshino and composed by Toru Funamura, a hit maker of Showa-era songs. This may be because the station is located at the foot of Mt. There is a place to draw water from the groundwater by the entrance of the museum, and visitors who spend more than 1,000 yen can get a free 2-liter water coupon. The pride of the station is its original tofu made from the fresh water. The rice and vegetables grown in the clear water are also delicious.

Chanpon is the best place to eat.

Chinese Restaurant Ajisai is located in front of Children's Wakuwaku Park, where families can have fun together. It is run by a married couple, the owners of which were in charge of Chinese cuisine at a wedding hall for many years. The chanpon (800 yen), which is a dish of chanpon, has a light and elegant flavor that makes you want to drink up every last drop of the soup, even though you might expect it to be the Chikuho area's typical cottage-soup. The crunchy texture of the vegetables in the bowl is perfectly balanced with the smooth noodles, and you are sure to finish the dish in one go.
The best place to eat: Sundubu Ramen.

Located in the "Roadside Station Joyous House Hikosan," Sonke is a Korean restaurant with its main branch in Tagawa City. Unlike the main restaurant, which mainly serves barbeque, this restaurant offers bibimbap, chijimi, teppan lunch, noodles, and other dishes.
Sundubu is written as "pure tofu" and is a Korean tofu that is soft like yose-dofu. The "Sundubu Ramen" (1,078 yen) is made by adding ramen noodles to Sundubu jjigae, a spicy broth made from tofu prepared by a local tofu store using water from the Eikosan mountain system. The spicy broth is served in a stone pot, and the steamy, rich soup is followed by the spiciness of the tofu. The only ingredient is simply tofu, which the owner's mother, a native of Jeju Island in South Korea, has passed down to him. The spices and other seasonings are also made in Korea, and dried ramen noodles are used instead of fresh ones, which is also Korean style.
After eating the ramen, throw in the rice that comes as part of the set. Mix the rice with the remaining soup to complete the bibimbap. This is a unique way to enjoy bibimbap, as the stone pot has a high heat-retention effect, so you can enjoy every drop of the soup.

Let's buy this one too. Stubborn old man shoe.

The "Oyaji Shoe" made by a long-established local confectionery store has a fun obi seal with more than 50 different "father quotes" such as "Shut up, men, shut up, Oyaji Shoe. All of them are handwritten by the owner's wife. The name of the product is also nice in that it is not specific, such as "stubborn oyaji shu" or "oyaji shu" (father's shoe)!
