The crystal clear beach is right in front of you!
Natural salt, fresh seafood, and other bounties of the sea
Shimoaso Beach, the only one in Kyushu selected as one of the "100 Best Bathing Beaches" by the Ministry of the Environment, is right in front of the hotel. The white sand beach, crystal clear ocean, and the sight of Shimoura Island on the opposite shore provide a scenic view. The site has a river pool, a park, and accommodations such as an auto campground, permanent tents, and cabins, which are crowded with tourists during the season. The cabins, in particular, are air-conditioned with bathrooms and toilets. They are equipped with bedding, refrigerators, rice cookers, and other appliances, as well as permanent barbecue stands, so that even beginners can enjoy a comfortable beach resort experience.

The salt, which is boiled for a long time over wood, is rich in minerals such as calcium and magnesium, and has a mild and complex flavor. The Salt Museum, located on the station grounds, exhibits the tools used in the old Agehama method of salt production, as well as panels showing the work process in an easy-to-understand manner.
