Roadside Station Kurume Gourmet Information
Salad greens, a local product of the local area

Fukuoka Prefecture boasts the nation's largest shipment of salad greens, and in fact, more than 80% of them are grown in Kurume City. In addition, while hydroponics is the mainstream, Kurume's salad greens are cultivated in soil. This makes them last longer, have thicker flesh, and are darker in color. This is evidence that the vegetables have grown by absorbing nutrients such as minerals from the soil.
The station boasts of its original tomato ketchup.

Tomatoes are collected from tomato farmers who ship to the roadside station and made in limited quantities each year. The processing is handled by an agricultural food processing plant in Nagano Prefecture. The slightly sweet and gentle flavor makes it perfect for omelette rice, Neapolitan rice, and other kid-friendly dishes. Several labels with rustic designs are available. 650 yen.
