Kurose Buri, a local specialty

The product hall is lined with souvenirs from Miyazaki and agricultural and marine products from Kushima City, with the most eye-catching being Kurose Buri. Kurose Buri is a brand of yellowtail that is cultivated in Shibushi Bay and landed in Kushima City. In addition to sashimi, the Kurose Buri corner sells frozen blocks of yellowtail, yellowtail kama, yellowtail arabesque, and other items. All are pre-processed, so they are easy to prepare right out of the packet.

Umiyama Shokudo offers a variety of menus using yellowtail, but one of the most notable is the "Kushima Ikushime Buri-Puri Donburi" (1,200 yen), which was created as a local gourmet dish. The rules include using at least 100 grams of live-clawed yellowtail produced in Kushima City, using at least five local seasonal vegetables, and serving the dish with yellowtail ara soup. Umiyama Shokudo prepares five kinds of sauce for this bowl, including sashimi soy sauce, spicy miso sauce, and onion salt sauce. You can enjoy the change of flavors while eating it. In addition to Umiyama Shokudo, three other restaurants in the city also offer Kushima Ikushimeburi Puri-donburi, each with its own unique flavor.

Cape Toi (port city near Tokyo)

The Misaki horses, designated as a national natural monument as one of Japan's native horse species still in existence, live here. Although the area was established as a ranch in the early Edo period (1603-1867), it has remained largely unmanaged by humans, and to this day, the horses live in a near-wild state, including breeding. Wild horses can be seen roaming and grazing everywhere, and a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean can be enjoyed.
