A chalk statue of Princess Sayohime welcomes you.
Enjoy the simple taste of a farmhouse.

It is located in a valley town with Mt. Sakure, once one of Kyushu's 100 most famous mountains, to the north and Mt. The town is marked by a huge statue of Princess Sayohime. The product hall features fresh vegetables and handmade processed goods grown by about 100 local farmers under contract. Statue of Princess Sayo

I'm proud of this one too.

Sayohime is the daughter of a powerful family from the town of Itsuki. She fell in love with Otomo Sadehiko, who was stationed on the Korean Peninsula for the war, and they were married, but Sadehiko went to the battlefield. Princess Sayohime continued to wave her fins at the warship on which her husband was riding, and in the end she was turned to stone. The statue standing at the station is 15 meters high and rotates once every 15 minutes.

Forest of Environmental Art

If you want to have fun in the area

The private forest, which stretches approximately 30 hectares on the southwestern slope of Mt. Sakure, is a "maple forest" that environmental artist Masaaki Tsuruta has created over a period of 40 years. The forest is open to the public every year from mid-April to mid-June when the leaves are fresh green, and in November when the leaves turn red. The view of the autumn leaves from the "Fuyu Sanso" is like a painting! There are many spots for strolling, including a large maple tree 8 meters high with a trunk circumference of 3 meters.
