Local product: Ripe mangoes

Mangoes are one of Miyazaki's representative agricultural products. As a major producer of mangoes, Miyazaki offers a wide variety of mango products, including fresh mangoes, soft mangoes, parfaits, and roll cakes. When mangoes are in season, the area even calls itself "Michi no Eki Mango" (Roadside Station Mango). The secret of their popularity is that you can buy them at prices 20-30% cheaper than department stores and supermarkets.

This is the one to buy. Nanko Roll

Jacaranda Forest

If you want to have fun in the area

Behind the roadside station is the Miyazaki Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Station Subtropical Crop Branch, where new species of subtropical plants are developed, tested, and researched. It is open to the public and can be enjoyed as a botanical garden overflowing with a tropical atmosphere. The Jacaranda Forest is located in one corner of the garden. The jacaranda forest is one of the world's three major flowering trees, and its purple flowers bloom from late May to the end of June each year. This is the only place in Japan where a forest of about 1,000 trees can be seen.
