The best way to eat Sashimi Set Meal 5-Piece Sashimi Set

The renewed restaurant was renamed from "Food&Cafe Shiranuhi" to "Isaribi". Yuji Tanizaki, who used to specialize in Japanese cuisine at the buffet restaurant of the new management company "Agri Park Toyono," has been appointed as head chef. Naturally, the menu is rich in seafood. The five-piece sashimi set meal (1,800 yen) or the four-piece sashimi set meal (1,300 yen) are particularly recommended. five-piece set meal includes Amakusa tiger prawns, tuna, and three types of seasonal sashimi. four-piece set meal includes tuna (excluding prawns) and three types of seasonal sashimi. This is served with rice, miso soup, pickles, three small potted dishes, and a dessert of seasonal fruits. Oh, what luxury! Mr. Tanizaki says, "The quality and taste of Kumamoto's baby sardines are definitely better than those from other prefectures. Be sure to try this as well.
Good umami and collagen! Perfect for fish lovers!

The restaurant at Michi no Eki Shiranui reopened in August 2021. Along with the sashimi set meal, the "arayuki set meal" (1,200 yen) is another popular menu item. It is said that the flavor of arayakki (aray stew) is determined by the preparation of the fish, and this arayakki is of course a gem in which careful preparation and seasoning can be fully appreciated. When you break off the shiny and shiny head meat or kama and bring it to your mouth, the flavor of the fish spreads with the taste of sweet and spicy broth and moistness. There is no dryness, as is often the case. The collagen in the head also makes you smile as you eat it. Yuji Tanizaki, the manager of the restaurant, says, "The secret is to cook the fish while pouring the broth over the head. He poured the broth over the head to create a sizzling effect when we were photographing. Even in such a trivial detail, you can sense his enthusiasm for cooking. It must be delicious.
Hinotoyo" is the most popular local product.

Hi-no-Yutaka" is in season from winter to spring. This variety was created as a "Kumamoto-only Dekopon" by crossing the "Shiranui "* and "Marcotte" varieties, which were named after the Shiranui region of Kumamoto Prefecture, where they were first cultivated. It has the same shape as "Shiranui," but it is more vigorous, easier to cultivate, and ripens earlier. Because of its high acidity immediately after harvest, farmers let "Hi-no-Yutaka" sit for about a month to increase its sugar content. This is called "additional ripening. In this way, the plump, plump pulp overflows with rich sweet juice. When they are in season around January, the bright orange color and protruding belly button lure customers to the Shiranui Roadside Station. Of the "Shiranui" varieties, those that meet certain conditions are distributed under the name "dekopon.

White-walled storehouses in Matsuai
If you want to have fun in the area

The village is located along Route 266, less than a 3-minute drive from the roadside station. From the Edo period to the Meiji period, it flourished as the largest fishing and trading port in Kumamoto Prefecture. Houses were densely built in the narrow village, and the walls facing the road were made white to protect them from fire. The white-walled storehouses are still carefully preserved. On the third Sunday of every month, a morning market is held from early in the morning, selling fresh fish and other products from Matsuai Foods, a local miso and soy sauce brewery.
