This roadside station is located at the foot of Hanami Bridge on the banks of the Oyodo River. It is named "Vitamin Kan" in honor of Kanetaka Takagi, a great local man who devoted himself to the eradication of beriberi and was called the "father of vitamins. The product hall features Miyazaki curry, spicy noodles, and a section specializing in jidori (local chicken). The newly opened Vitamin Café is also popular, serving squash made from local produce and soft drinks made from raw milk from the town's dairy farms. There is also an outdoor lawn area lined with kitchen cars and a dog run for visitors to enjoy with their dogs.

If you want to have fun in the area

The park is located on a small hill in the center of Takaoka Town. The 17th head of the Shimazu family, Yoshihiro Shimazu, had the castle "Amagajo" built to guard the border, and the view of the Oyodo River flowing below, Miyazaki city in the distance, and the Hyuga Sea can be seen. Known as a famous flower viewing spot with yamazakura cherry trees, approximately 1,000 someiyoshino cherry trees, and 50,000 azaleas in bloom, the area is crowded with visitors in the spring. The castle-style building is now the Amagajo History and Folklore Museum.
