If you want to have fun in the area

The park is located on a small hill in the center of Takaoka Town. The 17th head of the Shimazu family, Yoshihiro Shimazu, had the castle "Amagajo" built to guard the border, and the view of the Oyodo River flowing below, Miyazaki city in the distance, and the Hyuga Sea can be seen. Known as a famous flower viewing spot with yamazakura cherry trees, approximately 1,000 someiyoshino cherry trees, and 50,000 azaleas in bloom, the area is crowded with visitors in the spring. The castle-style building is now the Amagajo History and Folklore Museum.
