Hut-style that blends in with the scenery of Yabakei
Udon and soba noodles with shiitake mushroom broth are popular.
The theme of this roadside station is "clear streams, greenery, and fireflies" along the Yamakuni River. Although small in scale, the rustic atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The popular souvenir "amazake" at the product center is made from home-produced Yamakuni rice and koji malt. No additives or coloring agents are used, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural sweetness of the sake. Amazake soft serve ice cream is also available for take-out. There is also a corner of "Nakatsu 6th industry products. A specialty is the all-you-can-eat buffet, where you can order udon or soba noodles and enjoy 15 to 20 different country dishes, but this has been discontinued since Corona. It is hoped that the buffet will be revived. Currently, the restaurant offers mainly udon and soba dishes, and the famous chicken cutlet is still available.

Roadside Station Yamakuni Gourmet Information
This is the one to eat. Stamina Donburi (rice bowl)

When the bowl of rice was brought to me, I unintentionally exclaimed, "It's huge! I exclaimed. The rice was placed in a special bowl that was deeper than a normal bowl of rice, with half of it topped with a generous amount of yam yam yam, and the other half was covered with shredded cabbage and topped with five large, freshly fried pieces of karaage. The fried chicken is said to be "Genryu Karaage" using herb chicken, a specialty of the station. It is truly a hearty meal. The yam and yam yam are served with vinegar and soy sauce sauce. I was again surprised at the amount of rice. It doesn't go to the rice. It seems to be enough for two bowls of rice. The juicy fried tofu is also very satisfying! The price is 1,200 yen (including tax) with two small bowls of cooked food and a soup.
Let's eat maitake udon too!

Although the udon and soba buffet is on hiatus, udon and soba as individual items are still offered with the same taste as before. The menu is limited to 10 bowls a day and includes maitake mushroom udon (can be replaced with soba). The maitake mushroom tempura is served on a separate plate, and it is also very hearty. A whole maitake mushroom is deep-fried. One wonders whether one should eat the maitake tempura one by one with udon or separately from it. The udon noodles are smooth and firm, and the shiitake mushroom broth is rich and tasty. The udon comes with two small bowls of cooked food for 850 yen (tax included).
