Roadside Station Miyakonojo NiQLL renewal!

道の駅都城NIQLL

Roadside Station Miyakonojo is transformed into "Roadside Station Miyakonojo NiQLL"!
The attraction of Miyakonojo is appealed in all directions on a scale six times larger than that of the city!

April 22, 2023, was Michi no Eki Day, the 30th anniversary of the Michi no Eki system. In conjunction with this event, "Michi no Eki Miyakonojo", which had been under construction for some time, was reopened. The name was changed to "Michi no Eki Miyakonojo NiQLL" (Roadside Station Miyakonojo NiQLL). The name "NiQLL" was derived from the words "Oh NiQ" and "Is this NiQLL?" as Miyakonojo is the largest consumer of chicken, pork, and beef meat in Japan. Let us take a quick look at the roadside station, which has grown six times in size.

Fully functional as a multi-purpose space

First, let's focus on the area around the entrance. Here, there is a covered event plaza for morning markets and other events, and a multipurpose plaza with artificial grass. The event plaza is large and can be rented out to the public, and the multipurpose plaza can be used freely as a place for relaxation. Beyond the event plaza is a deck terrace with ample space. On the south side of the entrance, there is a "wooden playground" where small children can play in peace.

Entering through the west entrance, the stylish stand-bar-style "Shochu Café" immediately catches the eye. In fact, Miyakonojo is the home of the Kirishima Sake Brewery, and its factory is located nearby. In addition to Kirishima Shuzo, there are three other breweries, and you can drink a shot of each of their famous sake. Of course, drivers are not allowed to drink.

Enter the direct sales office from its side. Steps lower the floor, and a high loft ceiling creates an expansive space. There, you will find not only vegetables, fruits, and other agricultural products, but also shochu (distilled spirit), processed goods, and bakery items. Another heartbreaking feature is that behind the shochu café there is a "sweet potato café" that sells sweet potato sweets. The "Fruit Cafe" is no slouch when it comes to sweet treats. Try the gelato made with seasonal fruits from Miyazaki.

In addition, there is a kitchen studio with a smoking room, which can be seen from the direct sales office. There is also a multi-purpose room that can be used for meetings and other purposes.

And then there is "food" to be concerned about. Miyakonojo is a town of meat, and there is an abundance of delicious meat. The "Meat Corner" and "Meat Café" are located in the back of the direct sales shop, where you will find a variety of meat and processed meats, as well as their signature "Premium Menchi-Menchi" and "35 Katsu Sandwich" made with 35mm-thick brand pork! and "35 pork cutlet sandwich" made with brand-name pork of 35mm thick!

Kitchen Granma" also reopened within the building. The menu includes pork cutlets made from Miyakonojo pork, Miyazaki beef barbeque lunch, and barbeque courses at night. We can't take our eyes off of Michi no Eki Miyakonojo NiQLL, where you can spend a full day.
