Roadside station stopover driving course
5 Hydrangea Spots in Kyushu
I like this color too. This shape is also nice! There are so many varieties of hydrangeas to choose from. During the rainy season, hydrangeas are beautiful in both their moist, wet appearance in the rain and their bright colors in the sunshine. There is nothing better than to stroll around the area and enjoy the local specialties while admiring these beautiful hydrangeas. It would be even better if you could buy local vegetables and specialties at a roadside station along the way! Seasonal flowers, fresh local vegetables and seafood on a drive for a change of pace! We want to enjoy it in a selfish way.
The best time to see the flowers changes depending on the weather and other factors. Please check in advance before visiting.
Nakagiwa Dam Hydrangea Garden (Kashima City)

Colorful dam lakes and terraced rice paddies
Nakakiwa Dam is located along Route 444, which runs from Kashima City to Omura City. In addition to the "hydrangea garden" with approximately 7,000 hydrangeas planted by local volunteers, many hydrangeas are planted in the surrounding terraced rice paddies, and the entire area is decorated with hydrangeas during the flowering season. A stroll along the promenade is recommended, where visitors can enjoy strolling while looking at the hydrangeas planted in a three-dimensional pattern on the slope overlooking the dam and the dam lake. The "Nakaginiwa Dam Hydrangea Festival" is held when the mountain greenery, the dam lake, and terraced rice paddies are in full bloom, and a walk around the dam is organized.
