Fireworks displays are a summer tradition.
Surrounded by the sea, Kyushu is also popular for fireworks displays held along the coast. The reflection of the fireworks in the night sky on the surface of the water is beautiful, and watching the fireworks while feeling the sea breeze is a different experience from watching them in the city.

Kanmon Kaikyo Fireworks Festival 2024
Fun on both sides of the strait
This fireworks display is held on both banks of the "Kanmon Straits" between Honshu and Kyushu. The fireworks display is held on both banks of the Kanmon Bridge, which spans the Kanmon Straits between Honshu and Kyushu, and the shaku-dama (large fireworks display) that is launched to compete with the height of the Kanmon Bridge is a spectacular sight to behold.

The Chikugo River Fireworks Festival has a history of more than 370 years, dating back to the celebration of the completion of Suitengu Shrine in 1650 (Keian 3). There are five different launch sites.

This is a major summer event set in the historic port of Nagasaki. The colorful fireworks display that colors the night sky and the sea is a spectacular sight to behold. The lights of the city and port of Nagasaki, known as one of the "world's three most beautiful nightscapes," can also be enjoyed.

Fireworks makers from all over the country gather in one place
A fireworks contest held on the banks of the Kuma River in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture, where pyrotechnicians from all over Japan gather to compete in their skills. This is a popular event where new and creative fireworks can be seen.

Co-starring with Akita "Omagari Fireworks" celebrating the 100th anniversary of the city government
This is a summer tradition in Miyazaki City. This year's event will also feature a joint performance with "Omagari Fireworks" from Daisen City, Akita Prefecture, a city closely related to Miyazaki City, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the city's administration.

Kagoshima Kinko Bay Summer Night Fireworks Festival
Sakurajima, an active volcano, and fireworks
With Sakurajima, an active volcano, in the background, 15,000 fireworks light up the night sky and the sea. The finale is a spectacular display of 2,222 fireworks, including the Noto Peninsula earthquake reconstruction memorial fireworks, the annual simultaneous launch of 2 shaku-dama (two large balls), and large balls.
