Asai no Ipponzakura (Kurume City)

120-year-old mountain cherry tree loved and protected by local residents
This mountain cherry tree is 18 meters tall, has a trunk circumference of 4.3 meters, and is 120 years old. Because it is an old tree, it is carefully protected and loved by the local residents, and it shows its beautiful flowers every year while being treated by a tree doctor. Since the tree is rooted beside a reservoir, its reflection on the surface of the water is beautiful, and when the flowers fall, a "flower raft" is also beautiful. The "flower rafts" are also beautiful when the flowers are in bloom.
The nighttime illumination that is held in conjunction with the blooming season is scheduled to continue in 2025. Both the fantastic appearance at night and the "upside-down cherry blossoms" reflected in the reservoir in the daytime are highlights of the festival.
