If you are looking for a luxury gourmet food, Ise lobsters are the way to go!
Nomozaki is the hole in the ground for the Lobster Festival!
The Ise lobster fishing season in Kyushu opens from late August to September 1.
The "East Kyushu Lobster Festival," jointly held by Saiki City in Oita Prefecture and Nobeoka City in Miyazaki Prefecture to coincide with the September 1 lifting of the ban, is a standard popular event.
However, there is actually a lobster festival in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, that has a longer history than this event. The "Nagasaki Momozaki Lobster Festival" is held on the Nomo Peninsula (Nomozaki Peninsula). This year marks the 26th year of the festival. Enjoy a hearty lobster dinner in a peninsula town with a view of Gunkanjima on the other side of the island!
First, don't miss the limited event on September 7!

The Ise-Ebi Festival will last until September 30, but on the first Sunday, the 7th, limited sales of "Ise-Ebi Miso Soup" and "Catching Ise-Ebi" for children under elementary school age will be held at the Nomoizaki Cultural Center in Nagasaki's Momozaki Dinosaur Park.
Miso soup will be available from 9:00 a.m. Tickets for 1,000 yen per cup will be sold to the first 400 people in line. Families should line up to purchase their own tickets, as there is a limit of one ticket per person. The rock-paper-scissors tournament to catch lobsters will begin at 10:00 a.m., and the winning 100 children will be able to participate with a 1,000 yen ticket. After the event, be sure to visit the on-site Benex Dinosaur Museum. About 180 items are on display, including real fossils and a 13-meter-long replica of a Tyrannosaurus full-body skeleton. Nomoizaki was the first place in the prefecture where dinosaur fossils were discovered, and more than 1,300 have been found. The museum is the third dinosaur museum in Japan. The full-body skeleton replica of a Tyrannosaurus is a replica of the skeleton of "Trix," which is owned by the National Museum "Naturalis Biodiversity Center" in the Netherlands. There is also a Tyrannosauridae reconstruction robot, which is a must-see for dinosaur enthusiasts!

Eat lobsters and get lobsters!

Now for the main course: lobster dishes. The number of restaurants serving Ise lobster is small, only eight, and they are scattered around the small peninsula. You can spend a luxurious time at lunch while driving around looking at the sea scenery. There are also Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine genres to choose from.
At this event, if you order a lobster dish or spend 4,000 yen or more at any of the eight restaurants, you will receive an entry ticket and 12 people will be selected by lottery to win 1 kg of lobsters! 1 kg is equivalent to 2 to 4 lobsters. If you eat lobsters and get lobsters, you can enjoy another lobster festival at home!
Make a reservation and enjoy a generous and relaxing Ise lobster dinner.

Reservations are required at some restaurants only for lobsters. For the three restaurants, "Ichimochi", "Szechuan Vegetable Rinrin", and "Jyuwari Teuchi-Soba Garyu", reservations must be made at least one day in advance. Also, please understand that the prices of dishes served at the eight restaurants vary depending on the size of the lobster.
Ichimochi Restaurant offers a "Lobster Sashimi Set Meal" starting at 5,500 yen. The restaurant is located on a small hill facing the sea, with Gunkanjima clearly visible beyond the window. The restaurant's name, "Ichibo," is exactly what it sounds like. Gunkanjima floating in the sea, fresh sashimi of Ise lobster right in front of you. You will want to make a reservation to go there.

Szechuan Vegetable Rinrin is a restaurant serving authentic Szechuan cuisine. The exterior of the restaurant has a modern structure that makes one think it is a Western-style restaurant, and it too has a view of the ocean. The chef was trained under the famous Sichuan chef Kenichi Chen.
The main course of the "Lobster Course" (from 11,000 yen) offered during the period is lobster in chili sauce. The sumptuous course is also accompanied by Chen Mapo Tofu made with 40 spices and shark's fin soup, the signature dishes of the restaurant!

And "Jyuwari Teuchi Soba Garyu" also offers "Isekai Egaryu Grilled Lobster" (from 5,000 yen) by reservation only. The restaurant is open only for lunch from Thursday through Sunday and holidays.
They are particular about their handmade Jyuwari-soba, which is made with homemade buckwheat flour and no glue, and they also offer pottery making classes. The "Garyu-yaki" comes with half a grilled lobster, salad, soba noodles, and miso soup.

The restaurant is located right behind the Nomoizaki fishing port, and the owner himself fishes early in the morning and serves kaisen-don (fresh seafood on top of a bowl of rice) at his restaurant. Naturally, the freshness of the fish is outstanding.

No reservations are required at "Asaichi Shokudo Hagemaru" located behind the "Monozaki Asaichi" at the back of Nomoizaki Fishing Port, where you can enjoy "lobster sashimi" starting at 7,700 yen for one or two servings (400g). The lobster comes with miso soup.
Incidentally, the restaurant's popular menu items, such as "mono-don" (bowl of rice topped with shrimp), all have a reputation for being hearty, fresh, and tasty, and during the event, customers line up both for the lobsters and for the regular menu items.

Next is Restaurant Daiman. It is located on Nomozaki Kabashima, which is connected to the peninsula by a bridge.
This place has gained popularity in previous years by offering "Lobster Turkey Rice" (4,000 yen and up). The soul food of Nagasaki City, "Turkish Rice" is now available with gorgeous fried lobsters as the main dish. The fried lobster sitting on top of the pilaf with special Neapolitan and demi-glace sauce will raise your spirits! Comes with lobster miso soup. Ends as soon as it is gone.

Finally, you can enjoy both hot springs and lobster dishes at the same time. At the "Nomon Jaya" restaurant of the "Natural Carbonated Hot Spring Nomon-no-Yu" located in the "Ocean Resort Nomon Nagasaki" resort hotel, you can enjoy "lobster sashimi" (8,800 yen and up) without a reservation. However, it is only available on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
