Hakata Station] All-you-can-eat fried horse mackerel for 1,240 yen! Sanyo Shokudo" was too good to be true.

For those of you who are on a road trip to Fukuoka, do you honestly think that you don't want to drive near the Hakata Station area?

I know, I know the feeling. There are a lot of people, the roads are crowded, and most importantly, parking is expensive. When you finally find a place to park, you find that you can't get your campervan in because of the "height restriction. ...... It is easy to give up eating at the station and go to a wide roadside restaurant in the suburbs.

But for once, please hold off on that decision for a moment. I have found an "extraordinary restaurant" in the basement of Hakata Station that is worth going to even if you have to struggle with parking.

The name of the restaurant is Sanyo Shokudo. For only 1,240 yen, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat freshly fried horse mackerel and freshly sliced tataki. No kidding? I thought, "No way!" and then I went there and found myself in heaven.

In this issue, we will report on the actual food we ate to our heart's content and how we actually solved the "Hakata Station parking problem". We will provide real information for car travel users.

No way, this is all-you-can-eat? Video shows the impact of "deep frying

First of all, let me share with you the impact we experienced in the video. (*There is an English ticker for our overseas friends, but this sizzle is universal!)

Deep-frying to order! The Seriousness of a Fisheries Company

The location is in the underground mall directly connected to Hakata Station. In fact, this restaurant is directly operated by a fishery company. Fresh horse mackerels purchased from Matsuura City in Nagasaki Prefecture are served by professionals in their most delicious condition.

When you order the all-you-can-eat fried horse mackerel set meal (1,240 yen) for lunch, a few pieces are brought to you at first. If you are thinking, "It's all-you-can-eat, but it's just pre-made, isn't it?" If you think so, you are mistaken. If you ask for more, they fry them for you each time. That's why they are always "crispy, crispy, crispy.

We found ourselves eating as many as eight pieces, but the fat was so light that we didn't lean back at all.

Lunch-only privilege! Let's make a self-saucing bowl of rice topped with "horse mackerel tataki"!

The fried horse mackerel alone is very satisfying, but there is another crucial reason why you should go during lunch time (11:00 - 14:00).

Crunchy & refreshing endless loop

I was surprised to see the self-service corner. There was even fresh "horse mackerel tataki (sashimi)" on display. Put a generous amount of this on top of rice and pour some of the special sesame sauce or soy sauce over it, and you have ...... an instant kaisen-don (seafood bowl)!

The rich flavor of the fries is reset by the refreshing taste of the tataki. I would like everyone to experience this happy endless loop.

What should we do with our cars around Hakata Station?

Now, the biggest concern. 'I want to go, but where do I park my car?'

Sanyo Shokudo does not have a private parking lot. And most of the parking lots around Hakata Station are multi-story parking lots with a height limit of 2.1 meters. For campers and high-roof cars, finding a parking space is a cold sweat.

So, our recommendation for the "smartest way to park your car" is this.

The correct answer is to reserve "RV Park smart Hakata".

If you want to eliminate the stress of "I might not be able to find a parking space," the best thing to do is to make a reservation at RV Park smart Hakata, which is located within walking distance from Hakata Station.

  • Why is this place good? This is a rare space in the middle of Hakata where you can also park your camper. There is no need to go around in circles looking for an "empty" light like in coin-operated parking lots.
  • Recommended way to enjoy the restaurant Park your car here and walk to Sanyo Shokudo. You can have a delicious lunch and have a drink while you are there. You can walk back to your car (a moving hotel) and take a nap or stay overnight as you are.

If you really want to park only for a short time, the trick is to avoid the main area of the station and look for a flat parking lot a little further away from the Shinkansen side (Chikushi exit), but considering the time and effort required to find a space, it is smart to use an RV park.

If you're heading to this spot, this is the place to base yourself!

How would you like to spend your time after filling up at Sanyo Shokudo? Among the spots listed on our website "Flatto", we have picked out a few that are easy to combine with sightseeing in Hakata.

(1) "RV Park Smart Hakata," the most powerful base for urban tourism

This is the key location for this lunch trip. You can spend time with your car in the center of Hakata in peace and quiet.

  • Here's my recommendation: The convenience of walking to Hakata Station is unique.

If you want to be healed at a hot spring, RV Park Smart is the place to go.

If you want to go to a hot spring quietly at night, drive a little further to Nakagawa City. If you want to enjoy hot springs quietly at night, drive a little further to Nakagawa City.

  • Here's a tip: Relax in a hot spring facility in the forest. You can stay in your car and forget about the hustle and bustle of the city.

3) "RV Park Michi-no-Eki Munakata" if you want to continue your journey as a fish lover.

Those who were awakened to the taste of fish by the horse mackerel at Sanyo Shokudo will go to a roadside station where fish from the Genkai Sea can be found the next day.

  • Here's the recommendation: One of the most popular roadside stations in Kyushu. A treasure trove of fresh seafood.

summary

Sanyo Shokudo is located in the basement of Hakata Station. It is a bit of a hurdle to get there by car, but as long as you decide in advance "where to park," there awaits you an unbelievable impression for 1,240 yen.

It would be a shame to pass it up because "there's no parking." We encourage you to go hungry and sneak into the underground of Hakata Station.

Drive safe and have a good trip!
