Oto Sakura Kaido Flower Park" is located adjacent to Roadside Station Oto Sakura Kaido. It is covered with seasonal flowers such as rape blossoms in spring, sunflowers in summer, and cosmos in autumn. In fact, these flowers are sown by town hall employees in between their duties. Therefore, the number of sunflowers and the density of flowers may vary from year to year, but this is also a courtesy. Usually, around 200,000 sunflowers bloom from late June. Roadside Station Itoda x Hydrangea

A variety of colors and shapes of flowers Enjoy the individuality of hydrangeas

The Kanayama Sakura Hydrangea Garden is located just after the Chikuho Karasuo Tunnel on the Iizuka-Shonai Tagawa Bypass from the direction of Fukuoka City, in front of Michi no Eki Itoda. About 7,000 hydrangeas are planted on the slope surrounding the regulating pond on the Kanayama Plant site, and in June they bloom in a variety of colors, including blue, red, light purple, and white. They were planted by local volunteers, and there are about 15 different varieties. The names of the varieties are easy to recognize, such as White Diamond, Blue Sky, and Scarlet Manaslu, based on the color of the flowers. The shapes of the flowers are also very different, making them a delight to see.

Roadside Station Kashima x Hydrangea

Flowers bordering the dam lake and decorating the terraced rice paddies Dam walk and hydrangea viewing

Nakakiwa Dam is located along Route 444, which runs from Kashima City to Omura City. About 7,000 hydrangeas bloom every year, mainly in the "hydrangea garden" upstream of the dam. The hydrangeas were planted by local volunteers and are arranged in a three-dimensional pattern on the slope overlooking the dam, and visitors can view the hydrangeas and the dam lake while walking along the pathways in the garden. The surrounding terraced rice paddies are also planted with hydrangeas, adding color to the rural landscape. The annual "Nakaginiwa Dam Hydrangea Festival" includes free distribution of hydrangea saplings and a walk around the dam. This year, the festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18.

Fukagawa Porcelain China on the Park, located in the pottery town of Arita, is a theme park operated by Fukagawa Porcelain, a pottery manufacturer established in 1894. The Toshiko Memorial Garden on the grounds is planted with English lavender from Hokkaido, the hometown of Toshiko, the wife of the second president of the company. The purple flowers, which emit a gentle fragrance said to have a relaxing effect, are at their best from mid-May to mid-June each year. This year's Lavender Fair will run from Wednesday, May 17 to Monday, June 5. In case you are wondering, the language of English lavender is "happiness. Enjoy it with the historic collection of ceramics and porcelain.

Isshin Gyo Park is famous for its Isshin Gyo cherry trees, which are over 400 years old. However, summer is not to be missed. The 30,000 sunflowers that cover the entire field on the west side of the park bloom in profusion. The sunflowers are managed by the Minamiaso Village Office staff, and the rows of sunflowers are a sight to behold. The "Shikao Ancient Forest" has two lotus gardens: one with more than 20 species, including the light red Maihime lotus and the white Kinrin lotus, and the "Ancient Lotus Garden" with the "Ohga Lotus. The "Ohga Lotus" was germinated from lotus seeds unearthed in Chiba Prefecture by botanist Ichiro Ohga. It is called the "Ancient Lotus" because the seeds were from a lotus plant estimated to be 2,000 years old. It is bright pink in color and about the size of a human head. There is also a water lily near the product center. Also, don't forget to visit the sunflower field next to the Ancient Forest Park.

Gazing Down the Stream of Time for a Thousand Years Hydrangeas nestled in the cliff Buddha

Fukouji Temple, a temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect of Buddhism, is also known as "Hydrangea Temple. About 2,000 hydrangeas are planted on the temple grounds and bloom simultaneously every year in mid-June. The hydrangea festival, which was cancelled in Corona until last year, will also be held. The temple is also famous for the Buddha carved into the fused tuff in the precincts of the temple. It is believed to have been built in the Kamakura period (1185-1333), and at 11.4 m high, it is the largest in Oita Prefecture. Together with the Kumano Magaibutsu in Kunitachi Peninsula, it is one of the largest Magaibutsu in Japan. The statue depicts Fudo Myoo accompanied by Seitaka Doji on the left and Kogara Doji on the right.

Roadside Station Yamanokuchi x Hydrangea

The park aiming to be the best hydrangea park in Japan A variety of hydrangeas of different colors and shapes are in full bloom!

Yamanokuchi Hydrangea Park, located near the Yamanokuchi Smart Interchange, is a park on the site of Matsuo Castle, a former castle of the Shimazu clan. From the castle-shaped observatory, visitors can see the Kirishima mountain range and the Miyakonojo basin in front of them. In spring, cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and a whopping 28,000 hydrangeas of 84 varieties are planted. It is no wonder that the town aims to be the best hydrangea-growing town in Japan. The park has a Shukei Pond with 10 waterfalls of various sizes, a rest and exhibition facility, etc. The Hydrangea House is open for business during the hydrangea blooming season. Soft ice cream, drinks, etc. are available.

Roadside Station Nango x Jacaranda

The only jacaranda colony in Japan Let's watch them at the roadside station where you can also buy seedlings.

The charm of Michi no Eki Nango is the blue waters of the Nichinan coast, tall Washingtonia palm trees, mangoes, and jacarandas. Jacaranda is one of the three major flowering trees in the world, and approximately 1,000 jacarandas are planted around the roadside station. In fact, this is the only place in Japan where this many jacarandas can be seen. This year, the "Jacaranda Festival" will be held from May 27 (Sat.) to June 18 (Sun.), with free seedlings and classes on how to grow jacarandas being offered, and the area will be lit up at night. A shuttle bus will also be available on Saturdays and Sundays during the festival. Be sure to taste the seasonal mangoes as well.

Roadside Station Yamakawa Port Ikkaokaido x Himawari

JR's southernmost station and spectacular sunflower view! Note the happy post and bell!

Nishi-Oyama Station is the southernmost station in JR Japan. Around the small unmanned station, rape blossoms are in full bloom in January, and in summer, fields of sunflowers spread out. Since they are planted by local volunteers, the number of sunflowers and the time of blooming are not fixed, but with Mount Kaimon towering over the area, the scenery is a picture in itself. Visitors can walk through the sunflower fields and spend time surrounded by sunflowers. There is also a yellow post box and a happy bell at the Nishioiyama Station site, where you can send your best wishes to someone while being watched over by sunflowers.
